Senior Banker,
For over 11 years, Mr. Mirotadze was the Chief Financial Officer at a leading Microfinance Bank in Georgia, previously a microfinance institution, but transformed to a banking entity of which Mr. Mirotadze played a key role. Over the course of his tenure, primary responsibility entailed developing the institutions strategy and ensuring adequate funding for its implementation. Mr. Mirotadze established relationships with the majority of DFIs and attracted over USD 200 million in funding, which grew the balance sheet by over 12 times. Specific projects led by Mr. Mirotadze included: Implementation of currency exchange and remittances services, introduction of ALCO, risk management and anti-money laundering frameworks, implementation of currency hedging through derivatives, management of a local currency bond issue, centralization of back office operations, establishment of a treasury functions and development of its operating procedures, management of core banking system implementations, establishment of financial analysis and budgeting functions, and implementation of IFRS 9.
Prior to this Mr. Mirotadze served as Director of Finance and Information Technologies at another commercial bank, where he joined from the moment of its acquisition. His role was to create a turnaround strategy and optimize its structure to ensure successful exit for the investor. The task was completed in 2 years, after which the institution was a fully functional and profitable commercial bank; sold with a premium.
Other previous experiences include a position as Director of Treasury and Strategic Development at a commercial bank in Georgia, where his primary role was to improve the corporate governance structure, establish strategic partnerships, and funding attraction. As a result of his efforts, the profitability of treasury operations increased significantly, and the institution became attractive for international partners, which resulted in its acquisition by the Societe Generale Group.
Before starting his banking career, Mr. Mirotadze worked in business consulting; of which his projects included: Georgian Enterprise Accounting Reform funded by USAID, Restructuring of Ministry of Transport funded by World Bank, Primary Healthcare Reform funded by DFID, and an Enterprise Restructuring and Management Assistance project funded by World Bank.
His native languages are Georgian and Russian, while being fluent in English and beginner German.
Mr. Mirotadze holds an MBA in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY – USA; and a BA in Physics from Tbilisi State University. He has also completed executive courses at the American Bankers Association’s Stonier School of Banking – University of Pennsylvania.
